Gmail OAuth Scopes – GuestPostCRM

GuestPostCRM Gmail OAuth Scopes

Understanding our integration permissions and data usage

Last Updated: 28th November, 2025

This page describes the exact Google OAuth scopes requested by GuestPostCRM when you connect your Gmail account.

1. Why We Request Scopes

GuestPostCRM requires certain Google API permissions to perform:

Email Syncing
Real-time Inbox Updates
Classification & Labeling
Workflow Automation
Sending Emails
Tracking Communication
We request only the minimum scopes needed for the system to function reliably.
2. Scopes Used by GuestPostCRM

GuestPostCRM may request the following Google OAuth scopes:

a. gmail.readonly

Used for reading email metadata and retrieving messages related to outreach, follow-ups, and CRM entries.

b. gmail.modify

Used for:

  • Classifying emails
  • Moving messages between internal system labels
  • Creating CRM-specific labels such as Non-Relevant Content, Spammy Content, No Reply, and Duplicate
c. gmail.send

Used for sending automated messages, follow-ups, or templates — but only when explicitly triggered by the user.

d. userinfo.email

Used to verify the connected Gmail account and associate it with the correct workspace.

e. pubsub (Google Pub/Sub API)

View and manage Pub/Sub topics and subscriptions.

Used for enabling faster, more reliable, and real-time Gmail synchronization.

This allows GuestPostCRM to receive instant notifications when new messages arrive, reducing sync delays and improving inbox classification accuracy.

3. How These Scopes Are Used

These permissions allow GuestPostCRM to provide:

  • Real-time lead and inbox syncing
  • Email classification based on CRM workflows
  • Logged communication for deals, orders, and client records
  • Automatic label creation and management
  • Accurate tracking of outreach and follow-ups
Only email data directly relevant to CRM operations is processed.
4. No Sensitive Data Use

GuestPostCRM does not access:

  • Emails categorized as “sensitive” by Google
  • Bank information, passwords, or financial emails
  • Personal communication unrelated to business use
  • Any private data beyond what is required for CRM automation
We do not use Gmail data for advertising or profiling.
5. Revoking Permissions

You may revoke Gmail access at any time by visiting your Google Account → Security → Third-party Access.

Upon revocation, syncing and Gmail-related features inside GuestPostCRM will stop immediately.
